The downside to Jamaica, is if you are a tourist and espcially a white tourist you have to be prepared for the biggest amount of hassle you will have ever experienced in your life, from people trying to sell you drugs, their sister, or anything you can imagine. This will happen as soon as you leave your hotel area. For me the Caribbean Island of Barbados is much better choice.
