Rhodes is one of the many islands that you can make your holiday in Greece. Rhodes is one of the largest and most fertile of the Greek islands. It is also one of the most visited islands in Greece. Rhodes is not only known for its seaside resorts and beaches, but also to various archaeological sites and medieval towns found on the island.

The island of Rhodes is composed of several attractions. It is a major tourist attraction in itself, mainly because of its sunny beaches. While most beaches on the island are covered by gravel instead of sand, tourists still flock to the island because of the 300 and more days of sunshine it enjoys.

The first destination on the island is the city of Rhodes, which is the largest city of the island and seat of local government. Another area is to visit Lindos, a picturesque village which is also a site of an ancient acropolis. Next to this village is Haraki is a small village that was once a haven of fishing. The closest of Lindos Pefkos is a small tourist town that was once a group of farms and private residences that eventually grew over time.

For more action, tourists want to leave in May Faliraki. This is where tourists often go to party and have fun and exciting action, while some on the island. Afandou is one of the largest cities of the island where the golf course of Rhodes is located. For a more rustic experience, tourists can go to the population as a theologian, where Greek culture and tradition is also important.

Greek is the main language of the island of Rhodes. However, due to the influx of tourists and foreign visitors, most people have learned to speak better English than most of Greece, and some German. Communication with the local population is relatively easy, particularly in the areas of highest concentration of tourists.

Getting to the island of Rhodes is possible from the air or by sea If by air, the island can be reached through the Diagoras International Airport on the west coast and 14 km from the City of Rhodes. Scheduled flights are available from Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete. There are also companies chartered Rhodes connection to other major cities in Europe. There are also ferries that regularly through Voyage Bodrum, Symi and Tilos. There are also cruise ships that dock in the port area to the east of the old city of Rhodes.

The principal means of travel to Rhodes in Greece is a holiday on a bus. The island has a bus network that operates throughout the island. Buses are relatively cheap and usually stops after a calendar. This is a good sign of a bus driver at the roadside if you want to board or alight.
